Good Worx :: Sayreville Public Schools
In 2006, The GoodWorx Foundation received approval from the Sayreville Board of Education to conduct an after-school program at the Sayreville Middle School for 6th and 7th grade students. The GoodWorx Foundation, using their MTC philosophy, built a unique after-school program centered on 10 key life skills seminars. Response was immediately felt by students, parents, teachers, and administrators. Development is lead to expand existing programming to target the transition period into high school for students in the 8th and 9th grade. Additionally, a similar MTC collaboration is in effect for the Samsel Upper Elementary School. Ultimately, it is the goal of The GoodWorx Foundation to expand into all elementary schools within the Sayreville School District providing school-based mentoring programs at every academic level.

The GoodWorx Foundation is currently working with New Jersey City University in providing support for the NCAA CHAMPS Life Skills Program. The foundation integrates The MTC Program’s unique philosophy into a university-based program providing life coaching sessions centered on 10 key life skills seminars. After the initial pilot program’s success, The GoodWorx Foundation and NJCU are focusing their efforts into expanding the program in order to reach over 25% of all student athletes enrolled at the university. Looking forward to a five-year plan, both, GWx and NJCU, hope to have a profound impact on the lives of the students while enriching the overall undergraduate experience.

The GoodWorx Programs of Distinction

The GoodWorx Foundation's "Read Something" Literacy Program

The mission of The GoodWorx Foundation's "Read Something" Literacy Program is to offer children and adults access to a variety of books, magazines, and newspapers in an attempt to promote and educate our community on their fundamental right to literacy. Along with providing the resources, we also offer free confidential reading instructions, by trained volunteers, to people of all ages as we strive to give people the basic foundation to advance their education.

The GoodWorx Foundation's "Imagine That" Art Appreciation Program

In support of its major focus on cultural diversity, The GoodWorx Foundation created a new addition to our programming. The "Imagine That" Art Appreciation Program extends appreciation of cultural diversity to include that of the diverse world of the arts. As part of this enlightening new program, we plan on coordinating trips to art museums and galleries that will expose our program participants to the wide world of creative expression.

The GoodWorx Foundation's "Onward and Upward" Transition Program

With a strong emphasis on the concept of "Life Skills", The GoodWorx MTC "Onward and Upward" Program focuses on students making the transition from elementary school to middle school, and middle school to high school. This program provides support for 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th grade students and focuses on issues that adolescent students often face while making the transition to the next level of the academic and social experience.

The GoodWorx Foundation's "Gang Prevention" Program

As one of our MTC Program Life-Skills seminars in development, we seek to provide an awareness of the concept of gangs, gang peer-pressure, and the mindset of alternative behavior when faced with this reality within our society.
